Petition to Have "Eternity eau de parfum" Misbranded

The Environmental Health Network submitted the above petition to have Calvin Klein's "Eternity eau de parfum" declared misbranded.  I am writing because I fully support this petition and I request that the FDA give it careful attention.

The petition shows that "Eternity" contains toxic ingredients and ingredients whose safety has not been substantiated.  There is no warning label on its packaging.

I am one of a growing number of people who is finding it harder and harder to work because of illness resulting from fragrance exposure.  When I am exposed to fragrance products, such as "Eternity," I experience severe sinus problems resulting in hoarseness--laryngitis if the exposure is very long, hearing loss in my right ear, and coughing.   I also experience brain fog or fuzzy thinking making it difficult to concentrate or think clearly.  I get dizzy and have problems with my coordination.  Later as my body tries to expel the toxins I have sleeping difficulties and bouts of diarrhea.  I have experienced all of these symptoms many times in my previous jobs as a counselor in an elementary school.  It's impossible for me to describe how difficult it is to work when exposed to harmful chemicals.  They are destroying my life as I once knew it.

I urge you to consider the millions of people who have suffered from fragrance exposure at work, at school, at the grocery store and just about everywhere else people congregate.  We have a right to know the status of safety testing of the ingredients in products such as "Eternity" so that we can educate others not to use them and so that we can protect ourselves from toxic chemicals that clearly cause health problems to so many of us.
